if any....

Usually red oxide on iron blocks to stop the oil seeping through the block - believe it or not
Posted 05 May 2018 - 07:05 PM
There are special 2 part epoxies for this. Supposingly to make the oil run down faster.

Vizard advocates painting inside and out - I've etch primed the inside of my rocker covers and was wondering whether to paint the rocker area of the head with the same.

er that's a no from me what's the point if ya did , Cannot see it , and only probly block ya oil pump up or galleries and cost ya 50bhp in weight , not like its a red strip, think maybe years ago they might have done it on 1929 mini 's' works twin turbo coppers stop the block rusting like the rest of it................P.s. the 1929 models rusted that bad and quick there like rocking horse fairy poo now......
Yes I think it's fair to say 1929 minis are rare!

See no reason to do it...pointless exercise to gain nothing with potential downsides.
Never seen it anywhere in any tuning books including Vizards

I can confirm VIzard recommended painting the block interior in the Yellow Bible.
