already read this - http://www.theminifo...er#entry3505183

nearly £100 quid for some off minispares , & my mini is non standard , so will need cutting / bending

does anyone know of a car with a liner that is similar ? so I can butcher them without the guilt of trashing £100

I am looking at cheap trailer mud guards - & heat gun

may even try a 5 gallon plastic drum

seriously £100 quid for 2 bits of plastic is mad considering they cost pennies to make , once mould is done

(I am a stingy barsteward) - but they do work wonders on cars they are fitted to - esp in the scuttle area

thanks in advance

It's the tooling costs you have to recoup when making things like this. It's expensive

Some good info here for DIY

I tried making some from a pair of trailer arches. http://www.theminifo...o-20/?p=3047830

Although the first pair were very much trial and error, so I remade another set using those as templates. And  did away with nuts and bots that rusted sold in favour of plastic number plate fixings. http://www.theminifo...o-20/?p=3407027

I fitted some to a mini I restored a few years ago, when you consider 100 quid for people who don't know how to weld or repair minis they're good value and they fit well.
What about fitting some Toyota ones off say a 2008 model, I say this as my neighbor asked me to refit his as it had come away from it's fixings etc. Anyway when I did it I thought these look ok for cutting and making fit classic cars etc, see what your local scrappers have in

I have a 5 gallon plastic drum at work - it looks lonely sat in the corner

jug saw , & heat gun - what can possibly go wrong ???

probably a lot , but I will try to straighten it out , see what I'm left with

thanks for all the reply's ,

may visit a scrap yard in a few weeks - if the 5 gal drum idea don't work
