it depends on the type of balance you ask for.
I don't know the differences.

Hi,
There's more than one type of wheel balancing. The one that will give the best results on alloy wheels is one set ot weights on the inner most part of the rim and the other set right behind the spokes. The basic idea is that they are as far apart from each other without sticking them on the outer rim.
I would call it a dynamic balance whereas you've currently been static balanced.

when dynamically balancing the wheels in the way bat mentions which is what I do to my wheels, placement of the weight is very important and not that easily marked by the machine. a couple of mm to far in one direction or the other will give strange results when rerunning the balancing after fitting weights expecting to see the result of 2x 0 gram
For this reason, when I dynamically balance wheels at work I use masking tape to hold the weights in place until I can get them to balance to 0g with minimal weight. I then finally stick the weights to the rim.
Too often I see people adding more and more weight to a wheel to get it balanced, sometimes even opposite each other which is plain wrong!
Get someone who knows what they're doing to balance your wheels dynamically and hopefully it'll help your issue.

Either way, glad to hear your problem has been improved.
