Hi Folks, I have a Clubman I would like to fit an Allspeed frame and a decent 16 valve modern engine and box to. I wondered what would make the best donor car with that in mind. A 1.6 or 1.8 would be more than enough for me. Confused by the millions of different Hondas out there. Thanks in advance. Mark

Don't know the answer but I'd say the one that gives the best final drive ratio, so donor with smallest tyres. Dunno if you can find a compatible diesel

The D series Honda engine found in the Civic and many other Civic sized cars is the one to get, versions vary form about 100 to 135 hp and if you can find a 3.7 final drive it makes a great combination of power, perfomance and easy running on highway.
