Hello,
This is my first post, great site by the way.
Anyway my question is this "is there any point/advantage in tuning up an automatic mini mayfair, will it increase performance. it is fitted with a five speed box"

Indeed there is, it will go faster
Few have taken the trouble to performance enhance these and I've often considered it myself. There has in the past been much dispute about the reliability of the auto box but in my experience / reading nothing has been proven.

There was a 5 speed auto A series??
Tune it up and see how far you can go til it goes bang! I would think the weak point would be the torque convertor? Just remember to change the oil every 3-6 months/3k miles.

i've often windered if you could put a standard flywheel and clutch on an auto cox!! just keeping the sequential or auto change!!! im not saying it would be smooth!! mite just have to plug the oil feed to the torque convertor!!

Indeed there was. Only 500 produced and I have one of them.

Most people don't count reverse though. LOL
The standard four speed auto box will take a stage 1 kit and a better head, but that's as far as i'd go.
