Hi!!

So I picked up my very first Mini last week, its an Austin City E, I've been doing a few bits and bobs on it under the bonnet and tonight I noticed a cable coming out of the fire wall. I'm not sure if it was disconnected when I got the car or I've some how managed to disturb it in the mean time.

Now I've managed to work out that it is going to the heater control inside the car, but I can't for the life of me see where it is supposed to be going under the bonnet.

Pics to help explain...

The car would normally have a heater control valve that would shut off the water supply to the heater matrix.

That is supposed to be connected to a heater tap (as linked below). yours has been replaced with just a take off so the coolant is flowing through your heater all the time. The taps were prone to failing back along, so probably replaced due to this.
