radiator fan

hi guys
the fan on my mini is catching with the bottom of the cowling, ive just fittted a new top bracket as it didnt have one before and it was fine for a while now its catching again. any top tips? its a MK II 1275 auto

is there no chance of persuading it out of the way? how badly is it catching?

If you cannot obtain any adjustment by undoing the bolts on the cowling-to-rad and wiggleing / tightening back up. (Pretty sure MkII is the same as III / IV) then there's always blade shaving. A few hundred thou off your plastic fan blades will make little difference to cooling.

Probably becuase the fan was catching - previous owner removed it! As above, or you could take a toffee hammer to the suspected area.

Nev: It had a silly bit off angle iron type stuff as a bracket. i looked at it and said that it would help putting a proper bracket on.

is there bushes in the bottom of the rad mount?
