apologies for my shocking description if that's what it is flywheel bolt,
its the bolt with large tab washer that holds the clutch on and has to be torqued to a ridiculous amount of foot lbs
left hand thread would stop any clutch spin off's surely?

Hi,
It's done up really tight to clamp the flywheel on the taper a left hand thread would make no difference.
Cheers

as above the bolts is only to pull the flywheel onto the taper. the main retaining force is the taper.

Hmm
Alice's new owner has experienced it coming undone twice
left hand thread would make it impossible, not a possibility

Hi,
The only time of heard of them coming loose is when everything isn't lined up correctly.
The slot in the crank and the flywheel are offset and the washer prongs are too.
It is possible to put the flywheel on 180 degrees out and chew up the washer when torquing it up...
Cheers

How?
If it has come loose twice then whoever is tightening it up is doing something wrong.
On rare occasions they have been known to come loose, but twice is virtually unheard of.
