So my block has just come back from the machine shop but the dowels were removed for the maching. Can they be simply tapped in or pressed in?I dont want to ruin the alignment of the main caps obviously! cheers in advance

Yep. They shouldn't need to be pressed though. Just tapped down square so they're home.

Check them over for any obvious marks from removal, they should go in with a bit of resistance, if they are loose or need more than a tap with the hammer handle ( it's wood or rubber so won't damage them) bin them and get a billet set from swiftune for 15 quid.

It's important they are right, as if they are loose the alignment can be off causing binding.

A lot of adverts have said 1300 in the past. 1300GT was only a 1275.

Yep 1275 and 1300 is the same thing,

to be honest a tap is a pretty good way if heating the dowels, the main issue is when someone goes at em with pliers or molegrips!
