Anyone been to this in previous years? How does taking your car out on the track work? Have never been to one of the days held at a race track. Any info welcome.

Look to book a parade lap. There are either 30mph or 60mph parade sessions you can buy - these have a lead car which paces you and there are fewer cars on the circuit so you are spread out. Other types of sessions you will be mixing it with some fast cars - to be avoided as a novice and if you value your car. There is a free parade lap open to all entrants to the event - this is at a slow pace with a lot more cars on track but is still a good experience.

Also, ensure that you have valid insurance to take your mini onto the track even if it is just a parade lap. Previously when I used to be into Fords, we completed a parade lap at SIlverstone however a Sierra suffered a whack and it was a very sticky situation.

For me the Castle Combe mini day is the best show of the year due to the track being such a great spectacle for the spectators and the drivers.

Although the track sessions are not a race it can be thrilling to watch due to the vast array of different skill and testosterone levels :)

It`s well worth being a passenger in a racing mini if like me you have to make sure your your mini is good for the 220 mile 4.5 hour journey back home and the money raised goes to charity.

Hoping the weather will be kind.

Looking forward to it....keeping my fingers and legs crossed that the weather is as good as it was last year. Hope to see a TMF stand there next year perhaps ?
