Love the sound of the 1 3/4" Millenium stainless RC-40 fitted to my car
It's been on about 15 years and still looks like new.

Single or twin box?

So I think from my research I have come to it that a smaller bore, about 1.75" would be best for performance but would not sound as good, and be raspy.
And larger bore would sound really nice but loose a little HP.
Am I right in saying this?
Basically, sound is very important to me.
If I did a Fletcher pro flow manifold (about 1.8") into a Fletcher 2.5" side exit with a LCB link pipe, would I be losing much power??
Sorry for all the questions, but i appreciate your help! :)

What happens when you go from one size of pipe, say the ideal of 1.75" diameter, into a larger diameter pipe is the velocity of the exhaust gas slows down. When a fluid moves along a pipe, if the velocity decreases the pressure increases, so the ideal molecular flow is spoiled and the higher pressure causes a loss of power.
You can either fit the correct size in engineering terms, or have what is often referred to as a 'power sapping noise booster'. It is your car, so you choose.

The playmini has always produced great results and sounds great with really good build quality.

Twin box centre exit with a Maniflow LCB. The engine is a 1293 with stage 3 head and Metro cam, goes nice.

I do wonder why some owners who have what is a slow and classic old car want to make it noisier.
If it is a real race car, then that is a different matter.

Probably because it was a loud racecar that inspired buying it - I don't know about you but I like the exhaust to give a bit of a hint of a potent motor then a good shout out under acceleration.
The one thing I miss from my old SRV8 is the bark from open sidepipes setting off car alarms.

So I have decided to go with a Maniflow side exit stainless 1.75" single box and I already have a glasspack muffler that I may or may not use.
One last question I have is, is it better to go with a freeflow manifold and link pipe or a manifold with an LCB?
