The heater matrix in my 1994 Mayfair is leaking, I think. When the blower is on water drips out of the heater outlet to the footwell on the passenger side.

I've felt around the point where the pipes join on to the matrix and it all seems dry.

Do the matrixes (matrices?) usually leak from within the heater?

If I have to replace the matrix is it always necessary to also replace the connectors (Part no JEP10008) or just the O rings?

You'll probably find that the connectors have corroded so would be better off replacing them with these https://www.ebay.co....r-/183198763098

Even better is to replace the whole matrix with an all metal unit available on ebay

I bought one which has the 90° ends soldered onto the LH tank

Mine was sat for a few years and rotted through. The connectors and O rings were fine, so I reused them. I have a feeling the connectors were aluminium.

Oh, also the foam around the matrix had completely disintegrated, so I rummaged in the loft and found a sheet of foam that PC motherboards come on. Was perfect.

Hi , have you a link for this please

Here is a link, however you can get them for about half this price
https://www.scparts....hRoCG4YQAvD_BwE

In the image, the matrix need rotated sideways so the outlets are on the left lower corner so it can be used in the mini heater box. You'll also want new foam which can be obtained from eBay or minispares
