As I have acquired another project car that I want to work on over the winter, I may have to store my mini outside.
I was wondering on how other people manage parking their Mini’s outside over the winter months.

A friend of mine places an old duvet on the roof and bonnet then uses a tailored fit breathable car cover and ties it round the car, making sure the car is watertight before it's covered

You can get an outside carcoon which if claims are correct would be ideal, problem with outside in the cold is keeping it dry underneath,

Mine has lived outside for the past 4 winters and looks no different now to the day I bought it. i just don't use it if there's lots of salt on the roads, plus have done some very good rustproofing and fixed the leaks by fitting new seals all round. I also have a couple of those dehumidifiers in the car, one in the boot and one in the rear storage bin to take any moisture out of the air.

are you using electric-type dehumidifier or those "pillows" you lay in there?

I use cat litter in an old sock as a dehumidifier in the mini and it helps. Just don't use dirty socks and dont let ut become saturated.

Mine hasn't been out in the cold yet but since moving I purchased an armadillo shell type cover.

Bolts to the ground and just rolls back to take the car out.

Stood up to some strong winds and rain so should be fine.

For £160 I think it's a bargain

I use this type of thing-

They tend to last about 5-6 months, but as mentioned before the car is watertight, so it will not be very damp in there to start with.

I was also looking at the shell type cover that opens up.
I thought of covering the car with the Taylor fitted cover & Park it in inside the shell tent type of cover.
I’m trying to talk the Mrs into letting me have a double garage built next year so I’m hoping I only have to park the mini outside this winter.
