what kinda paint are you using Tomf??
If it's aerosol then you don't really Need to use laquer. you just built up thin layers of paint and rub down every couple of layers, then your final coat should be flatted and the use you t-cut or whatever rubbing/buffing compound on it to get a gloss finish.

Jammy as long as you already have some form of paint on the arches you shouldnt need a plastic primer. Plastic primers adhere better to the plastic itself so you wouldnt be gaining anything by paying the extra rupee's for it. The cracking deffo sounds like your spraying it too thick. Try to put it on in thin coats, resist the temptation to wang it on

thanks, if i get time on the weekend ill give it a go and see how it goes. if i get round 2 it ill try and set some pics as i go along so you guys and girls can tell me where i mess up lol
