Mini Cooper 2009.

Sidelight corroded into socket.  I took it into Halfords.  They sprayed it with WD40 or similar but could not get it out.  Said bulb was corroded into socket.  Any ideas how to get it out or do I need a garage?  Thanks.

Note that TMF is specifically for classic Minis - those that ceased production in 2000, especially in our technical sections.

However I've allowed your topic as it mentions rust and we know all about that  :D

You should be able to buy a new connection or get one off a bmw mini in a scrap yard , some bmw's use the same connection. The pins in your one are probably badly rusted and will cause bulbs to blow . You should be able to do this yourself if you have a soldering iron and some heat shrink tubing

Even if you manage to get the lamp out, you'll find any replacement will do the same again in short time, even if you treat the rust / corrosion that's in the holder.

Save yourself some agony and replace the holder along with the lamp.
