Yes the compression ratio is likely too high.
Ok so you have the 28tooth input gear and a 30tooth primary. This gives an overdrive ratio of 0.93333:1. Your 3.105:1 FD effectively becomes 0.93333 X 3.105 = 2.898:1.
This is probably higher that what you were expecting. It also demonstrates thats it's important to know what exact parts are fitted to your engine in order to make a successful build.
