Hi Guys,

After some of your expert advice again if you don't mind...

Had the mini in for its MOT today and it failed (major defect) on no fewer than 10 things. Now 9 of them, I'm pretty sure that with the help of forum searches and my trusty Haynes Manual I should be able to solve them.

The one that's got me stumped on where to start is:

"Service brake lagging in operation Nearside Front [1.2.1(d)]"

According to the tester, upon hard breaking the nearside took longer to engage/ wasn't quite as 'stoppy' which could potentially cause the car to veer to the right under harsh braking.

Any ideas of what could be causing this/ how to fix?

Cheers,

Marc.

If it were me, I'd bleed that caliper first.

If that brake is binding on more than the other, I'd suspect that the pistons have rusted.

Tight pistons in the caliper, or possible collapsed rubber brake flexy hose under pressure
