Are fulcrum pins ( lower arm ) difficult to replace? Have a 1990 Mini 998cc manual 4 speed. I think my bushings are shot on them. Thanks for any ones help or info.

not that hard. the inner sleeve can get get stuck. flame can also help at times.

They are straight forward enough, just a lot of brute force to get them out. Easier when the frame is off the car, but that.s not always possible.

 

Heat as nicklouse says, but be careful using a flame. The bushes don,t produce lots of heat or smoke, but care is needed because of the obvious.

 

The inner sleeve of the bushes seizes on the fulcrum pin 8 times out of 10,  that is why they are a pig to get off and out. You could fall lucky and the pin may come out easy, if so, great ! The rubber sort of disintegrates and forms a shape all of its own

 

This pin itself takes a lot of pounding in its life time if you think about it. I.ll leave you to decide how to progress further with replacing or using the pin again, but personally, I know what I would do.  If that pin was to come out at a later date, it will make one hell of a mess.
