Help i think its my fan belt

Ok i was driving my mini today and heard screaching a few times, it sounded like it was the fan belt slipping could this be right??? Anways i went and brought a new fan belt but now i cant understand how to fit it?? Any help ASAP please

just slacken off the bolts to the alternator and feed the belt around the fan blades

undo the top readiator mount and feed the old fan belt around the fan balde and off the alternator.
To put the new one on, feed the belt around the fan, then on to the alternator.

thanks so do u just feed part of it throught the fan itself, thats what i couldnt understand
