I'm completing a complete restoration of a 1996 MPi.
I will be getting the shell back very soon and need to turn my attention to the next stage of the build.
I have fitted the steering rack, fuel lines, front to rear brake pipe and both subframes so I guess the next job on the list would be the wiring loom.
I'm hoping not to have to fit the SRS wiring loom but need to discuss with a local MOT testing station as to whether they would pass it. I plan to remove all evidence of the airbag and my new dash does not contain the hole for the airbag light.
Are there any things surplus to requirements in the MPi loom that can be removed or any recommended additions?
I don't plan on running any stereo/speakers so they that wiring can go.
What about all of the stuff for the immobiliser. Do I really need to be running all of these electronics? The car will be garaged. If I want to stop someone pinching it i'll fit a steering lock. If they really want to take it they would just drag it on the back of a trailer or pinch the keys anyway!
