Hi,
I've taken off some hubs off a mini to recondition. The part number on them is BTA186 which took me by surprise as checking the Minispares website prior to having them off I thought they'd be a FAM part number.
Going by the Minispares description "THE original BTA186 with chamfered end is 72MM in external width where the bearing sits but FAM2391 with step on end is 75MM wide to stop bearings flexing with bigger wheels. (THIS WAS ROVERS THEORY)"
Does anyone know if there was any advantage of the later type with the larger 3mm width? Lastly, what should I be looking out for when looking to assess hubs before reconditioning? Should I buy new on the safe side? As these are going on a mini with a conversion that will have a lot more power going through it than it originally did!
Cheers
