Hi,
I have a 1967 mk 2 mini and want to fit a replacement speedo however it is the 100mph type rather than the existing 90mph one. I’ve been told this is possible but it won’t register the correct speed unless I fit some kind of adaptor between the speedo and cable. Any advice would be welcome as I’m not sure what this is and where to buy it from.
Thanks, Nick.

you just need to make sure you have the correct  drive cogs for the speedo

some reading for you

also keep the 100mph speedo and consider getting it refurbished.

Nick, the 100 mph speedo is normally from a 998 Cooper. They are quite rare and the best thing to do is to send yours to Speedy Cables Ltd, in LLanelli who will re-furbish it for a sensible cost and that will keep it original and the drive gears will not be an issue.

I read it as though he is wanting to install a 100mph one, not remove one.
Not that any of that makes a difference to the need to swap out the drive gears.
