considered add ons to a 1275 but decided on starting with a 1380 instead. there's no replacement for displacement!!!!!!!!!!!

I now have a 1380 stage 4, 296 cam and should soon have a nitrous oxide kit in full working order... so long as i can get a suitable crown wheel and pinion as at the moment i get wheel spin into every gear!!!!

Ive added an LCB manifold, single box RC40 and a K+N to my spi and it has definately made a difference. It all depends on
a) What your budget is?
B) What will the car be used for? (weekend warrior/trak car/ daily driver)

A) don't have a budget, spend spend spend.
B) weekend car to drive around town and out to the lake.

I bought the same exhaust components as you, and I was given about 4 different k&n filters and 4 different carbs, and a pile of other parts(spares). When I bought my pickup from England and had it shipped to Canada, the previous owner filled the box of the mini pickup with parts, he switched to VW's.

Sometimes hard to tell what these parts are, since I am new to minis. There is alot of racing parts, skid plates, oil coolers and dual carbs and other stuff.

I bought my 78 mini car for $100 canadian dollars. I am replacing everything on it, and I am adding as many performance parts(spares) as possible.

i took away a few cc but added a cam and head and stg 1 kit and got more power than a 1275 (JUST) 1098cc, 256 cam, cooper head with big valves + stg 1 kit all added up to 54bhp @wheels @5500rpm bhp doesnt look great but the torque was huge being it had longer stroke than 1275 :ermm::D

I'd bore out to 1330, whack a 16valve head on it, put a poo hot cam in. If you just want o go fast the car may well not be driveable if it's off the track,

going to 1330 means if it goes tits up you can still have another rebore left on the block.

I added petrol to mine. It seemed to go alot quicker then!

If your looking at getting big bhp out of the A series then your going to need to lookm at going with forced induction. This could be in the form of a T2/3 turbo or the EATON supercharger with kits made by a company called VMAX SCART

Fold your rear seats down :ermm:

I think stage 1 kit - exhaust, inlet manifold, K&N, with a cam, and bigger valve, gas flowed head are the best simple mods to do.
