Hello guys I am currently doing a few upgrades on the interior lighting but I'll try to keep this plain and simple as I can so I have some interior LED lights added under the dash seats and rear seats that have a constant positive to them and the earth for these likes are obviously all linked back to the start I have a on/off/on switch switching them between the door earth to complete the circuit off or a permanent earth source through the on/off/on switch but I want to add some under door LED lighting so the floor is bright when you open the door for puddles and that but same senario but if I connect the earth for the interior lights to the under door lights both light will come on and I don't want my door gap shining on the side that isn't open so I need help or if anyone knows of a earth door switch that as two out puts on it but are not connect before the switch is closed I have check everywhere but non have this information?

as long as you provide each under door led with its own +ve supply and then earth through the door switch then each door light will only work when it's door switch is earthed

I may have completely misunderstood what you're on about as its really hard to figure out where one sentence ends and another starts without any full stops

KTS  - you have answered  correctly - Constant positive with an earth on the door switch.

 

Breaker includes a switch as necessary to switch for separating if needed between door contact with floor lighting

Not quite it's quite a hard topic to explain through words but I need these lights to have there own switched earth so it's either had another door earth switch on each door or find on that has two connections on the door switch on the two connections ain't connected when the switch is open?

I'm still missing the reason why you think the under door LEDs and the existing interior light circuit need to use separate earth switches

If understand the way you've got it wired up at the moment, your existing interior light circuit has a permanent live feed and the Earth connection is selected through the on/off/on switch - presumably off means no earth connection, one 'on' position links to both door switches so lights come on if either door is open, and the other 'on' position is straight to earth to allow interior lights to be turned on if both doors are closed

if you add an led light with its own permanent live feed to each door and complete that circuit by earthing through the door switch then the under door led will only come on when its door is open. This won't have any effect on the operation of the existing interior light circuit

Yes that is correct. But I want to under door lights to be on there own switch. Switched via the earth either off or on but if I connect my under door lights to the existing door switch say if my passenger door is opened my interior lights come on and so will the under door lights. But I need a 2 in 1 door switch so the earths ain't connected. So it's either that or add two door switches so there switch independently if you got me?

Surely the OP is correct. The two door switches are in parallel so that either will operate the interior light. Any other light connected to either switch will light with the interior light via the purple/white wire connecting the door switches together, irrespective of where their power comes from.

You could experiment with various diodes or fit an additional door switch. I've never seen a door switch with two separate earth feeds.

If you don't want to drill an additional hole then I use these reed switches. https://www.ebay.co....woAAOSwo8BbFq7Y

You can screw or glue them to the A pillar or even to the bottom of the door and glue the magnet to operate it, on the door edge or sill. The magnet need to be within 8mm to operate the switch, but it will only carry about 0.5amps. Anything heavier and you will need a relay. The reed switches are change over so depending how you wire it to turn on or off when the magnet is close. The same company sell encased magnets and other spec reed switches.
