Do i simply heat Up the primary gear with the old bushes in to 200 degrees or something to get the old bushes out and the new in?

Noooooo do not heat the gear up you will affect the temper if the steel (soften). I use a special home made too to remove th front bush and the rear is driven out with a punch. New bushes are inserted using a press and a suitable tool.

Great. Thank you for that very usefull answer.

Do you use a reamer, a lathe or something to machine the bushes to crank size after fitting or isnt it nessecary?

I machine them to a thin wall and then they usually fall out or push out pretty easy. I do have a puller, which works on some, but not all.

The proper new bushes need to be chilled in Dry Ice to fit, then allowed to stand overnight before machining to size.

To increase working time when shrinking them, I fit them to a Cold Sink before chilling them

I'll also express some caution with the bushes currently available. There's been failure of these that have also caused crankshaft damage. Do a search on the forum for that with some photos.

I dont know what a DEVA bush is or who you are asking :)

my rear bush came from a guy who have been into spares for minis for ages and it was new in 1994. my front bush came from minispares.

I do rebushing, and have a solution for small bore engines too. No floating bush here, proper press fit item.
