I've had a price of £147 for the Mini insurance with the new engine (1291, SW5, twin carbs, lightened flywheel, modded head) I was pleasantly surprised (Lancaster Insurance) Is this a benefit of being nearly 59?

Lancaster wouldn't quote me for a non standard engine as the car is registered as a 998 but running a 1275.
lInsurance companies go by what their database says the engine is from number plate. Adrian Fkux were the only ones who'd quote at a reasonable cost for modified.

Lancaster was cheapest for me (23 years old and was just over £300) but when Actually checking through the documents most of the information was wrong, got them to change their mistakes, which they still didn't sort out and then wanted me to pay more due to them not getting it correct in the first place. I cancelled and stuck with HIC.
