Hi.

I'm putting a 1275 engine together and noticed that the aperture where the heater take off valve should be is sealed.

Can I, or should I, drill through and open it to reconnect it.

Or, should it be fitted elsewhere?

Yes you can; you don't have to; many A series engines had a sandwich plate like this http://www.minispare...c/PEG10002.aspx used as a heater outlet between the thermostat housing and head.

Open it up it is a good way to reduce the temps on cylinder 4

I used both systems above but had to drill through for the heater take off (DSN retrosport) to be fitted. My head had the holes there for the studs
