Hi All,
With huge help from a friend, the gearbox from my 1996 SPI is finally on it's way to being fully reconditioned.
It's had the typical crunching down into gears for the year that I've owned it, I've always assumed that it would be worn baulk rings as I see them mentioned so much. However, it looks to us as if the baulk rings are okay (obviously still being renewed) and they have actually worn the finish off both first and second gear. See pictures attached.
Are we looking at this correctly and if so, has anybody seen this before? Can the gears be saved or is it a case of buying new?
Thanks for any help in advance.
Tim
