There's a lot of talk about what specification of camshaft to use for different applications but what makes are worth buying?

With parts quality not always where we'd like it to be, who makes reliable, durable camshafts these days?

And the same question about followers too.

Whats your use / application? Its like saying whats a persons favourite food. . Ive had 8 cams so far, my two cents, sw5 + 1.5's in my daily, 276 (kent) with 1.5's in my weekend warrior.

Billet not regrind imo.

I have had both good and bad luck with kent cams. maybe my bad luck was due to tappets being bad. I don't know, maybe it was the cam. never tried other than standard and kent.

It is my observation that fewer and fewer reliable or durable camshafts are being made these days, as they are not used in vehicles propelled by electricity.

I don’t like the idea of revving the nuts off an engine so I built mine for torque. For street use, I went with an Iskendarian “torquer” camshaft and one of Calver’s GT spec heads and a set of his cam followers. Fun car to drive.

I have used a lot of different Kent cams over the years and have not had any issues with any of them.

So plenty of lifespan from Kent cams.  What followers did you use with them?

I've had very good success with Cams from APT.

I've always liked the idea of an APT cam but they're twice as expensive as most cams sold here.

Yes, they are not cheap, but as they say, you get what you pay for.

What does that say then about the Minispares EVO001 cam as it's far cheaper than the Kent ones on their site?
