Can Anyone Identify This Colour Please?

Best Answer Itsaminithing , 14 May 2019 - 04:45 PM

It looks like a MK2 Aussie Cooper S (production ended Aug 1971) ....it's not a UK car & that's not a UK colour.

Possibly Camino Gold but we need the expert opinion of someone with corks hanging from their hat - one should be along shortly!

Link below. Says Mk3, but looks Mk1 to me (or replica)? Anyway, it's the colour I'm more interested in! Does anyone know what it is please?

Thanks imack, that looks about right with a quick google search. Thanks! Was hoping it was a Mk3 colour.

Yes, the lucky door prize winner here.

We never had a MKIII, we stopped at a MKII and the colour does appear to be Camino Gold (I've had a few Clubman GTs that colour).

It may have some MKI appearances. When all our Minis are compared to the UK Cars, all ours to the end (in 1978) would probably closer align to the UK MKI. The floor pans, while having some small changes along the way, were essentially of a MKI type and the doors, along with the external hinges also retained to the end, though, they did get a flat door handle and burst proof latches in 1970.

Thanks guys! Does look a little more yellow than the harvest gold mentioned above, but they all vary depending on the photo/light etc, so just having a good look around with Google images.

My conundrum is really that my mini is going to be of a Mk3 style, but I was planning to paint it a 60's colour. It's not going to be a purists car by any stretch, so it doesn't really matter - would have just been a bonus if there were more mk3 colours that appealed to me.

Easiest thing all round would be to leave it red!

I was told my new yellow 76 NZ 3 is Bold as Brass. ? Does anyone know what color code that is? Is it possible to find something that will match?
