Hi all. Just a quick question about insurance. Currently repairing my mini on the drive, can anyone tell me the best way of insuring? It's a second car, it's not going anywhere (yet!), but I would hate some toerag to nick it before I've even finished!!!

Insure it with a classic car policy.

As mentioned if the car is pretty much complete most will do a laid up or project insurance. Because mine is mostly in boxes I can't get anything to cover it.

Not everyone garages their classic, particularly those with multiple cars or no garage.

Thanks. A laid up policy sounds like what I am looking for. Cheers all.

I use footman james, they are great. They cover both the fitted and not fitted stuff. Including the 2 engines i have for it and all the boxed up stuff. I had to send copies of the work carried out and the state its in currently and as i add stuff they update the insurance as i send further photos

Out of interest how much do/did you pay, at the moment Vini is just sat whole car minus head, and my friends mini is complete but needs some work
I paid i think about £35 last time if i remember rightly, i pay it outright so its done and don't have to think about it. I chatted to them at one of the shows a couple of years ago might have even been a bit longer than that. Was pretty simple once it was setup, I only got it because I'm out on the road a lot so wanted to know that if anything happened I had it protected.
