I recently stripped one of the bolts whilst changing the clutch on the clutch cover. It's a 1275 metro engine if that makes any difference, does anyone know the bolt size so I can order some new ones?
Cheers

You can get the helicoil kit from namrick .. 5/16 UNC
ETA you’ll almost definitely have stripped the housing not the bolt

it all depends on what you have stripped. if you have stripped a bolt holding the clutch cover on then you are more likely to have stripped the thread out of the transfer-case, if you have stripped a bolt for an engine mount into the clutch cover (wok) then you are more likely to have stripped the thread in the Wok.unf

if you are on about the bolts holding the transfer-case onto the engine and gear box if it was a gearbox one you are most likely to that stripped the gearbox housing. if it is into the block the it is 5/16th UNF thread. length depends on which one it actually is.

Its one of the 8 or so bolts the hold the wok on I pulled the bolt out though and the thread was wrecked on it I didn't over tighten it but this engine has the been pulled about many times at a guess, when ever I do some work all the bolts have different sized heads and different lengths and what not. It's like some ones put it together in the past with what ever was too hand

5/16 UNC then but it can not be damaged by the alloy transfer housing so either it was fubar before fitting or you are seeing bits of transfer case allot thread in the steel bolt.
