Hi;

I may be able to get a set of Omega Pistons but need to get them identified to ensure they are what I need.

Number stamped on top is 16632 and they are +020

Many thanks

Those are not Omega but AE Hepolite.

Ah yes of course - they came out of an Omega box and could have been anything, probably the pistons that came out of the engine replaced by Omegas?

Do you have a catalogue? What's the dish size on these?

You might find this useful https://www.enginepartsuk.net/ae

Only had a quick look but didn't notice 16632 (i have to get back to kicking several types of fecal matter out of my exhaust Y-piece untill it comes off :angry: )

Ok so we have decided that these pistons may be AE Hepolite as they are marked 16632, however I still haven't managed to find the part number listed anywhere or any confirmed details on them.

Below are some links showing the pics of the pistons.

I need a piston with a 10cc dish so I ask the op to measure it using a Teaspoon on the basis that most Teaspoons are about 5-6ml. In the video he nearly managed to get 4 Teaspoons full of water. This would equate to about 20cc!! He did say his Teaspoons were very small.

I have asked him to find a Medicine Spoon labeled 5mm and let me know.

What I need to know is that are they worth buying for a 1293 build, they are being sold for £75

Whilst it is fine to quote the piston dish volume, that is useless without knowing what the gudgeon pin centre line to piston crown dimension is.

The dish is relatively unimportant, but if the pin to crown height is too large for your engine the pistons would stick out of the top of the bores. On the other hand, if they sit too far down the bores at TDC there will need to be a lot skimmed from the block deck to get the CR correct.

For what might be saved with these, the additional machining costs could rather negate the savings.

The best piston for a road Mini is the 21253. It is a good piston for CR's of up to 10.5:1 and revs of up to 7000 rpm. It is also a 'slipper' piston so is lighter than the earlier solid-skirt full depth pistons.

Yes but what about getting the 9.75:1 CR, I have been advised that I need a 10cc dish
