Hello,

Im tryin to decide what seats to buy for my mini...

was lookin at the cobra imola 2's. but the normal version is tight on my bum :dozing: plus i dont know if they would be comphy enough for road use.

so, i regrefully went to local halfords tonight to try some of there chavy seats out.

the forzas, were too wide for my behind, then i tried the cobra clubman, (new one ?) and i gota say, it was very comphy!

held you well enough, and was very comphy for me. plus its not too much of a mad design if you get me, so i dont see them being a pain on the road.

but, i want to know,

1. How low have people got theirs mounted ? with the normal subbys, and with mounting brackets theyve made?

2. are they strong enough, for if i wanted to do some trackdays in my mini ( which i will)

im 6ft 1 if that makes any diff.

Thanks for any info you can give me on these seats ;D

well, what are good ones ? i dont really want to pay over 200 quid on each seat, unless its something really worth it. ive been told to stay away from monacos and forza (as there the same anyway) i think the sprints have a reallly qide base too dont they ? i dont want something like the recaro gts (sumat like that) as there alot of money and dont hold you anymore than the seat in my peugeot 306. so its a bucket seat im after, something i can use a belt for on the road, then wack a harness on for the track days.

ive been recomended the imola 2 and the Rev, sparco is it? but there both well over 200 quid. and i dont want to get them when there great for racing and holding you, but uncomphy after half hour.

what seats do you sell smudger?

Dave ;D

Don't go for Corbeau Carrera's - they are comfy, but too big! ;D

Corbeau GTS is where it's at! :-

Oops, didn't realise you wanted them for track use!

Carrera's dont fit well in the car, they rub on the door pillars...

Corbeau Cluman's are very leaned back... Hard to drive in if you ask me!

Rx7's dog? are they proper buckets ?

lol nps feeble. The clubman i sat in in halfords, was dead upright, but thats just the stupid mount theyve got them on, i would have thought, it would just depend how you mount them as to what angle they are at?

i might end up making my own mounts, as i seem to remeber my uncle saying he had probs gettin his seat low enough in his race car?

ta for the replys ;D

True. I've only driven one car with Clubman's, which was my mate's Mini - and he had them on standard Corbeau subframes... If you like driving while laying down then go for it! ;D

I have my seats on alloy brackets, mounted to floor, just behind cross member.

At your height thats not a problem. Mount the spare seat further back so they dont get in way

Sorted (as the youth say)
