so what about the other part of the tool?
This isn't that full tool, it's for if you've got the housing off and just knocked it in squarly, or if you've pulled your engine apart you know its got a good oil seal and your just refitting.
It also isn't to protect your seal from the splines(although it does that), it is more to make sure you get the seal over that step without catching it, knocking the spring off and it allows you to spin the primary gear at the same time. Getting it over the step on the early A series primary gears can be harder than A+ which has a slighty chamfered edge. But if your trying to do this with the housing still on the car then you will need the special tool to push the seal on.
