Seem to be a lot of electric Mokes coming out, surprised they are allowed to use the shape.

Nosmoke is all French built but 'librement (freely) inspiré par la Mini moke'... As Is the E-Moke, surely Heritage has the rights, right?

Interesting... They where made in China but now are made in France.

Cerizay to be precise... I know nothing els but I do have the 'paperwork' from last year's Geneva motor show, could have a look tonight if it says anything, but I doubt it.

Last owner of name Moke, tools and rights was Cagiva. Since then very blurred. But I believe Cagiva sold tools and rights to China.

Yes.

I've not bothered to keep track of it all in recent years but last I knew, the Chinese owned the name and the 'design'.

One of the Moke Panel and Body suppliers based in the UK did say to be about a year back that the Nosmoke Bodies are being supplied out of China and it was claimed that's why it can't be registered in all markets, though, I'd say while that maybe a factor, there's likely more to it than that.

Hehehehe,,,,,, I'd take that 'heritage' list with a few grains of salt,,,,,,

There's also a plant in Florida, US.

I think that the bodies and major components are in fact still made in China, then exported in some form of CKD to these local plants for final assembly, with some local content. The one's being assembled in the US, it appears, have enough local content to say they are made in the USA.

Moke's have been around long enough for all their intellectual property protection to have expired – apart from any trademarks or names.

The Mini ought to be in the same position too. Though Rover blagged registering the body shape as a dodgy trademark.

We tried to visit the plant in France last year on the way back from IMM Portugal but were basically told there is nothing to see here have a look at the sales brochure.
