When I turn the ignition on the warning lamp doesn't illuminate, I have checked the bulb and wiring by disconnecting the plug from the alternator and grounding the small terminal and everything is OK that way.
The alternator is brand new and the other two terminals (brown and brown/blue) are connected to the solenoid terminal.
What else can I try?
There is some resistance between the terminal on the alternator body and earth, I expected some but maybe there's too much? Does an alternator need time to 'bed in'?

Could try doing a link earth direct to the body of the alternator, but I doubt that's the problem.
I suspect it is an alternator fault?

Tried that, and there is good continuity between alternator body and earth. Strange one - could be a dodgy alternator but I hope not!
