Hi I'm Mike and I've been on for a while but as my last mini fell apart and had to be scrapped and my 1969 Mini Countryman is loomless at the present, I decided to look for a 'new' one in running condition. But I came across 2 Clubman's with 3 engines for a very good price with no rust! being inland cars. One is an early Clubman rolling shell without seats, doors or bootlid but has an engine. The other one is one of the last minis built in South Africa and is a Rebel, one of the specials produced towards the end and my friends tell me quite rare. It's main feature was a small sunroof.
I want to start a refurbishing thread when I finally bring it home. It doesn;t have an engine but I have a Basil Green stage one engine in storage just waiting for a car such as this!

Welcome, Mike! Let's see some pictures of the early clubman and rebel. if it's an '83 Rebel, there is a bit more to it than just the sunroof. They also came with rostyles and black GTS style arches. The styling was rather neat. They were also only available in red according to Ryno's book.

Well I don't know if I'm keeping it as somebody offered to buy it. If I do keep it,I have some rostyles already. but it needs carpets and somebody has fibreglassed in the arches which spoil it I think.

I'm going to see a Van den Plas tomorrow. But this guy wanted to race it! Can you imagine a race car with a full-width sunroof!

Ah. yeah, I'm not a fan of moulded in arches. A Van Den Plas would be an awesome find. The parts are a bit rare, but the finished product is fantastic.
