Hi I have a mini special from 1981 but I found out the special was made in 1979 and mine is in old english white and is a 1100 but registered as a clubman! I found out that the car was sent abroad for around 2 years of its life but dont have one peice of service history. I have the v5 but thats all I have and dont have a clue how to find if it is genuine or anything if anyone has a way of finding out about the history of a car or something it would be ideal cheers Ben :proud:

cor i cant remember that far back in only 25 :S:S the mini special is a round nose 1100cc!! does that help!! if you're is a clubman it could have just ben an 1100 clubby!! they did make them!! lots of torque potential in the engine!!

well they stopped making mini clubmans in 1980 !!!!

was it made in 81 or first registered in 81.

can you get some photos of the car. include the vinyl roof and the interior if you can.

the interior of the 1100 special was quite distinctive.

it may have been sprayed white later, any signs of a respray???

yes, it could be a re shell, clubmans were fitted with the 1,100 engine, maybe you have a re shelled clubman or a converted clubman, is there any sign of the inner wings being changed??

very intriguing, bit of detective work needed here.

really would be helpful if you could get some photos, engine numbers etc.

Attached File  Mini_when_bought.JPG   118.14K   4 downloads Thats the mini when i bought it its in bits now but could it really be a reshell and the only sign of a respray is brown paint that was under all the C**p on the underside of the car but that could just be primer couldnt it?? Also the interior is just standard black fabric with half vinyl. Finally I got the body and engine numbers but it has had an engine change in the past so this is helping me understand a bit more so cheers :proud:
