Hi,

 

I've just done my insurance with Adrian Flux. All very easy.

 

For £19 they have offered me an agreed valuation. I had to guesstimate what I think my mini is worth for the policy so do you think it's worth going for this?

 

The thing is, my guesstimate for the policy was just that based on what I see advertised and what I know is done to the vehicle, so how do you arrive at a value for the main policy and for what the agreed valuation should be?

 

What do you lot do?

I always do an agreed value, my car is a bit older than yours, but for peace of mind, and for the avoidance of doubt with a potential picky insurance assessor, I just pay the money, and submit the photos every year.

Yep - like the idea of it but how do you set a value?

I look at the market and submit a realistic replacement value based on similar cars for sale, which with minis is obviously tricky as mods and condition vary so much. If they reject it, you might have to get a club to do a valuation.

I always go for agreed value, It'd be silly not too as they'll say its an old car so only worth a couple of hundred quid. I go by what others in similar condition are and how much I've spent on it.
