Hi all, I'd thought my mini was Pageant blue, but after buying a can from Halfords, the test piece I sprayed appears to be a shade or two darker than the bodywork. Are there any other mini colours it could be?

I know the car was resprayed by the previous owner (about 4 years ago) so it is possible it's not a rover colour at all, or I suppose it could have faded? But before I spend time and effort trying to get it colour matched, I thought I'd see if there are any other stock colours I could try.

I can’t see anything on Mini colours that looks close but it’s worth googling the paint codes as it’ll often bring up cars paint in that colour. http://www.mini-colo...urs.php?m=1&b=1

I would have thought pageant blue at first but upon googling yours does look a few shapes off.
There is always the possibility that it was supposed to be pageant but was mixed wrong so it slight off. Blues don’t tend to fade the way reds do.

If you really want a dead on match you could go to somewhere that supplies body shops with paint. Most of them can scan a panel and get you a match or just check it against existing paint cards.

I had a Pageant blue Mini and in comparison yours does look light. My thoughts would be that it's been painted in one of the current range of blues being offered by VW etc.

I think it is Mexico Blue from the Porsche Catalog.

+1 on the above.
Take it to a decent body shop and get them to scan the colour in and get a match.

Thanks all, I've found a local automotive paint shop which say they can colour match it so I'll try and call in to see them this week. Not sure if they have a machine to scan it or just going to use swatches but I'll see what they can do.

I noticed browsing the forum that richw911 has a pageant blue mini (JNA) and his also looks paler than some I've seen (like mine). It got me thinking, could it be there is a variance between the JNA/JAG Triumph and BMC224 Mini shades of Pageant blue? Most sites list them separately with different codes. Not sure if anyone has any experience of this?

year make model code paint name comment 1977 Triumph   224,JAG,JNA Pageant Blue   1978 BMC   224 Pageant Blue

That's a good shout it does look very similar.. is that the colour the Mini in the top banner is painted? I recall reading a thread previously where someone confirmed the colour of that mini and it a was a Porsche paint but I can't find the thread now.
