I fitted the Minispares SS light surrounds and they’re definitely oversize, just another example of poor pattern parts from the big suppliers. I did fit them with my original headlamps though and got away with it, just. I’d check the dimensions of all the new bits you’ve fitted to work out what’s out the most.

That looks a VERY big gap though!

Have you got the original to compare it to? I have the stainless ones and they fit fine!

Steve those look a closer fit than mine (with o/e headlamps), if I tighten the bottom retaining screw fully tight the rims pop of the bowl at the top. Maybe there's been a number of suppliers.

Ben, also check the security of the wires in the side lamp bulb holders that came in your light kit, I did the conversion on my sons Mini and the wires literally fell out because they'd been crimped with pliers not the correct crimping tool. Minispares checked the ones in their stock and sent me a couple of replacements.

You could be right chap! This is one of the reasons I fell out with minisport as they said only the MPi surrounds would fit the leveling headlight units.. Which is rubbish.

I had the same issue, in the end i had to lever the top edge out with plyers to stop it happening. both sides.

Ben, did you sort your headlamp problem?

Mine aren't as bad as yours but certainly not satisfactory, it's gone for it's MOT today and spotted just in time that one of the headlamp rims had popped off at the top! I like the idea of them being stainless steel but as pattern parts they're a pretty poor fit.

I'm having a similar problem with the indicator rings ... the top picture is a new chrome ring fitted to a glass indicator lens, the bottom picture is the same lens with a stainless steel ring (all parts new from Minispares).
