As standard, in the British market at least, I believe the 13lb caps were used when a 180oF thermostat was used and a 15lb cap when a 190oF 'stat was used.

realistically its not going to gain you anything, all it does is push the boiling point up a few degrees, using an onlin calculateor i get the below results for the boiling points
13lb cap 118deg c
15lb cap 120deg c

only ever used a 13LBs cap. never needed anything else.

What thermostat are you running ?

One problem is usually the length of the rad cap .. some are shorter and therefore don't seal properly .. meaning you lose your coolant when it heats up.

180 degree. No problem with heat, just curious is all.
