I'd have a go if I fully understood the question, who do you mean by "you" & "they"

Thing is I can't be sure what I see and you don't if we have different user privileges.

I very much doubt you can stop another member commenting, that would be censorship.

I didn't realise we all have a "hide" button - it makes sense, if we get flooded with spam everybody has a tool to cut it out for themselves.

Why care? If someone is bothering you just ignore them, they’ll soon stop and/or you’ll stop caring.

Not sure as normally once a post is hidden then thats it. Only if the post is unhidden should anyone be able to post.

As Admin i can see everything and comment where required but thats my access privileges.

Unless someone from the team actually looks at your post then we wont reply. I do not look at every post on the forum.

If someone reports a post for whatever reason or contacts us and by us i mean the Forum team, we will look into the issue.

Where’s my hide button?
I think it must be hidden because I can’t find it ?

May be I'm wrong - It's been years and the forum software has changed. It'd be at the bottom next to the quote buttons if it was the same.

Op you will have (depending on your access ) Report Edit Hide Delete MultiQuote Quote

All on the bottom left hand side of the post

I've just used it to hide my last comment out of curiosity. If you can still see it that should answer the original question.

A standard member should only have the Delete function at the bottom right of the page.

Team members will see Report Edit Hide Delete. So no Hide function is available for anyone other than Team members.

Surely delete is only available for your own posts, along with edit? Isn't there a report button for posts from others?

Blimey, gone back into my sons login and it shows when viewing another members post there is the following

Report  along with in individual boxes Multi Quote and Quote.

Now in his own thread which is Project Erm there is the following.

Report, Edit, Multi Quote and Quote.

And where the heck i got delete from i do not know as i have just done a test on his thread and it is the same as the above!!! My bad.

There is however a delete function for me in my role as Admin so looks like thats where i got that from.
