Didn't they lose the spacer when they all went over to vented discs in '85?

Minispares do 'em for their Alloy calipers.

Minispares do 'em for their Alloy calipers.

The vented discs had the spacers.

but it does depend on what part is actually wanted.

Part actually wanted is the spacers, 2 of them for a single caliper/

I am as good as certain the spacers were dropped. It would make no sense to manufacture calipers then modify the lot with extra parts once solid discs were discontinued.

I know it doesn't help you find a spacer, but it does suggest a more probable solution if you can't.

In most circumstances you could get at least as satisfactory an outcome by removing the spacers and going over to solid discs.

Thanks very much for that matey.

I've both types of caliper,

Vented type and non vented type. There was a period where BL themselves used to put spacers in there (I've still got some somewhere but can't find them).

Thanks,

Same caliper halves were used for vented and solid discs on early metros, the turbo vented discs all had the spacers between the caliper halves for the extra width of the Vented disc. When the metro was face lifted in around 85 all metros got the turbo vented disc setup and they widened one half of the caliper to eliminate the need for the spacers.

The early vented discs were also sided because the air channels were spiral.

Quite correct, my original turbo brake convertion from minispares had the handed discs.

Left or right?

I do have some, but I wouldn't be able to offer them for some while.

I couldn't put a time on when or if that'd happen, sorry.

Try some local motor factors, there might be some reconditioned ones still kicking around, or look at the online brakeparts sites, if nothing else you should get some part numbers to aid your search.
