Hi

 

 

I had problem with the old throttle body in MPI , sometimes hanging the RPM and not going back and I have to push the pedal to go down (when the engine hot) the issue with the butterfly rub the plastic, I changed the TPS and the accelerator cable is same issue.

 

At the end the issue was with the same throttle and I found the genuine one last piece and fix it in my car and now is perfect :) I know the SU company develop the throttle body and now is metal but I prefer to keep car original

The plastic throttle bodies distort due to heat and also can split. Hence the change. Seems like you have the former.

Dear FlyScot

 

I have a metal throttle body from SU, but it need some adjust. so I took the genuine plastic and no need to adjust the screw I think it adjusted by the factory. ( Also want to read the information from ACR4 for the throttle position for the future )

 

I think rover 200/25/400/45 have same body throttle (48 mm) in mini MPI, it just need to change the plastic accelerator bracket on it with your old mini bracket throttle body

I have replaced the original TB with both 48 mm and 52 mm Burlen metal throttle bodies and have not needed any adjustment of the throttle stop on the TB. I did not think you could even buy the original plastic TB new any longer.

Dear 

 

you are right the TB no longer available in the net just the used one and I don't advice to take the used one.

 

as you can see I share the TB for rover 45 and you can change the bracket with Mini TB bracket and work good :)
