Hi guys, doing the rear sub mounts on the mini and whilst unbolting the front mount the threaded insert it threads into has completely detached its self completely. What's the best way to repair this so I can get it back together? Cheers

Do you mean the one through the heel board in to the sill?

Chances are there's some rust that's caused it to break free. You could cut a hole in sill end to investigate and gain access. Then take it somewhere to have a patch welded over & any other welding required once it's back on its wheels.

Ah, no it's the one that bolts the bracket that holds the pinion arm to the sub frame. It's like a small threaded insert you can see but it's popped out giving nothing to thread too mate

One way around this providing you can weld is to open the hole up enough to weld in flush a suitably sized nut.

However if there is enough material it may be possible to fit a Helicoil insert.

I've got a welder but I'm definitely a learner, I reckon there's 2/3mm of metal do you think that enough for a helcoil insert mate?

Nope not enough so you will need to go down the nut route.

Nick it's the bottom vertical bolt on the sub frame bracket, the one you'd swap over if you brought the adjustable bracket on the mini spares adjustable suspension kit
