Does anyone have an engine stand adaptor to fit the pre A+ engine, collecting dust somewhere that they want to sell? I’m on a tight budget so generously priced would be a bonus!

No problem, if you was local it may have worked

Thanks for the offer.

Do you know if you actually need one or will the standard adjustable type ones you get with a Clarke engine stand work?

You can arrange the standard ones to bolt onto the block on the oil pump end, that will let you build the short block. There is a picture in vizards yellow book showing the standard plate and arms mounted to the front of the engine but unable to see the holes used and how they are arranged,so it must be possible

I think I may buy the adaptor which is listed on eBay.

Having rolled many an engine around my garage to disassemble them in the past I think it’s time I bit the bullet and bought one.
