Hi there

Just fitted a fletcher radiator to my mini , gone to kick the car in and the fan is catching the radiator when it’s spinning , has anyone else had this problem with a fletcher radiator ? And what have they done to resolve this ?

Many thanks

I’ve literally just swapped my original radiator with the fletcher one , not removed the fan just take off with the shroud then fitted the new one , I imagined everything would just be the same and it to be a straight swap ,

Try moving the radiator on its mountings (this wont give alot of room, but possibly enough)

I had to move my radiator towards the inner wing slightly when I swapped to a fletcher radiator, its tight but theres no rubbing noises now

Which fan do you have? I had this happen with a metal 6 blade fan, switching to the 11 blade plastic one cured the problem. The 11 blade is considerably thinner than the metal 6 for example. If you already have the 11 blade fan then try loosening and readjusting the radiator further away. You may have to slot the holes slightly.

Was the fan fitted correctly in the first place?
