What wheels have you gone for? I'd like to go for something chunky. I like the Porsche 968 steering wheels so something like that??

Any pics? Don't want to pay £500 for a Hopkirk wheel. It will go on a 78 GT, I have the original wheel but it's too thin :)

Thanks

I haven't any advise for the new steering wheel -

but take care of the old one - esp the badge , worth a small fortune now

I've probably had 2 or 3 in the past & chucked em (stupid me)

I run a 13 1/2” leather moto lita. Always been a favourite of mine. I run a standard wheel on my mk1.

I agree, I've just ditched my genuine leather bound GT wheel for a wood rimmed jobby for the same reason. I'm keeping the original safe though

I'm guessing you are talking about the early wheels not the later 78 > wheels? They are black with a plastic centre bit?

If you would like a Porsche 968 steering wheel, buy a Porsche 968!  :proud:

Look at any after market ones, Mota Lita is a good shout.

I use a 13" leather mountney with black spokes with a circle of walnut in the centre to match the dash.

Another vote for Moto-Lita, but i'd go for the 13" dished, leather rim and polished spokes, and most importantly; the small boss version.  the standard boss just looks too big for my liking on a smaller steering wheel

I've got a 14 inch Moto Lita - it was $40 on eBay and I sold the boss kit for $20  :shifty:
